I made a matching SG-1 header for the theme Tathy for for the SGA gallery, so the SG-1 gallery now has a new look too! And uses the new and better view to view the images.

Tathy of Night & Day made a wonderful new theme for the Stargate: Atlantis gallery; I hope you love it as much as I do!

You’ll also notice that now, when you click on a thumbnail in the Stargate Atlantis gallery, up pops up the image scaled to fit your screen resolution and not the full size image that needs scrolling in all directions like before. This is because I found a Coppermine plugin called enlargeIT and liked it; it makes the presentation of pics more elegant. It is still the full image, but scaled down so you can see it at once (if the image bigger than your screen).

While enlargetIT makes presentation nicer, downloading the pics for the less tech savvy among us might be a little harder so I thought I’d make a brief tutorial on how to do it: http://www.stargate-caps.net/2012/03/13/tutorial/

In case you curious and are familiar with how Coppermine works, the reason why we don’t have the intermediate images natively offerered by Coppermine is simply space: the site will be much too big and using them would double or triple or more the space we need (we are talking several extra GBs of space, no MBs). So this is the reason.

First, flick on the image above to view it in full size or download it.

Notice the icons at the right:

1. The disc I have marked with a red square in the image will take you to a download page.

2. With the blue arrows to left and right you can move backwards and forwards.

3. For faster navigation, use left and right arrows on your keyboard.

4. Clicking the X closes the image

5. The first button, “i” takes you to image information page.

All updates are delayed. Since February 14 when I had the capsule camera thing done I haven’t been feeling well because it aggravated the bowel syptoms – I’ve had two bad flare-ups, the second this weekend and culminating yesterday. And t0 make it all real fun, I’ve been battling the flu since about Thursday – which in my case means a sore throat and a cough from hell.

Needless to say, I’m not feeling like updating websites right now, and won’t be until I’m feeling half-way human again. So any and updates are delayed for now.

I’ll be on a semi-hiatus from November 24, 2011 (tomorrow) to December 8, 2011.

I won’t be home at all during that time, and while I will have my laptop with me… I’ll only have access to a slowish Internet connection. So I will handle site maintenance stuff such as script updates and server crises (if any) as normal. But I won’t have most of my files and other resources (they’re on external hard drives) so everything else, like screencaps/screencapping, will have to wait until I’m back home again.

RUDENESS ACCOMPLISHES NOTHING. ORDERS ACCOMPLISH NOTHING. Except make me want to keep a black list of people rudely demading things from me or outright giving me orders.

If you aren’t paying me, you don’t get to give me ORDERS. You don’t get to DEMAND anything.

If you want me to do something for you, be polite and ask. Sheesh, why is it so hard to get that??!!!!!!! It didn’t used to be like this until this last year or so. People on the internet are getting more and more rude :/
